Time Secrets of Billionaires

Billionaire. That word gets your attention, doesn’t it?

According to a recent Forbes article, “It was a record year for the richest people on earth, as the number of billionaires jumped 13% to 2,043 from 1,810 last year, the first time ever that Forbes has pinned down more than 2,000 ten-figure-fortunes.”

Do you think they know something about time… about productivity?

Dustin Moskovitz, Co-Founder of Facebook said, “Pick one day a week that you and your team can focus on individual work without interruptions, like meetings. We have ‘NO MEETING WEDNESDAY’S’ established to encourage flow and productivity across the company.”

Mark Cuban, Shark Tank star and Owner of the Dallas Mavericks said, “I never do meetings unless someone is potentially writing a check.”

Nathan Blecharczyk, Co-Founder of Airbnb, said, “ I try to fill my calendar in reverse, from the end of the day to earlier. I reserve mornings for ‘real work’ or ‘my work.’ I save meetings and responding to requests for later in the day. Productivity habits are the critical ‘game changer’ in today’s fast-paced society. Email, social media, and smartphones have turned our world upside-down.”

Rebekah Radice is one of my extraordinary leadership coaching clients and a social media speaker, consultant, and trainer in Los Angeles, CA. She is a ‘top 100 social media blog and content marketer.’ According to Rebekah, “Social fatigue is a real issue with productivity. Reset and recalibrate your schedule. Write out a preferred ‘best day’ that is embedded by productive work habits that include exercise and healthy breaks. Pace a purpose-driven day!”

I love to remind leaders that we each get 1,440 minutes each day. Don’t spend them, don’t waste them, don’t use them, don’t lose them— invest them!

Here’s to your billionaire time secrets!
