Dr. Bose is known as one of America’s foremost experts in emergency medicine, mass casualty, disaster care, and PTSD. A former major in the Army and an Iraq war veteran with twelve years of service, U.S. forces selected Dr. Bose to treat Saddam Hussein after his capture.
Some of Dr. Bose’s military honors include the Combat Medical Badge for participating in combat operations under enemy hostile fire and the Bronze Star for completing one of the longest combat tours by a physician since World War II and serving as one of the sole frontline physicians in the Second Battle of Fallujah.
Dr. Bose was accepted into medical school directly out of high school through the Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University, getting his MD at 25. At the age of 28, he was named an Assistant Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine at Texas A&M, making Dr. Bose one of the youngest medical school professors in the country. Later, while serving on faculty as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Dr. Bose co-founded several leading medical education companies.
Currently, Dr. Bose splits his time between Odessa, Texas, and Chicago. In Odessa, he is a practicing emergency physician at Medical Center Hospital as well as the city’s medical director. Dr. Bose is also the Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of liveClinic which is the world’s first and fastest growing platform to store personal health records. The platform is secure, free, and users get rewarded to stay healthy.
Without any promotion on his end, he receives at least a request a month to speak at large corporations around the world about applying lessons from combat and the ER to leadership and everyday life. He is the author of High-Yield Emergency Medicine, now considered a standard text. Through the textbook and the content offered online, Dr. Bose help tens of thousands of physicians a year deliver a higher standard of emergency care.
Dr. Bose appears frequently in the media as a medical expert, including co-hosting an ongoing weekly health segment on CBS News, appearing as a guest on Dr. Oz, and being featured on Untold Stories of the ER. In all, he has given over a thousand media and press interviews. This is an extended TV feature about Dr. Bose that aired across the Texas market. Taking care of vets remains Dr. Bose’s top priority. In 2014, he founded The Battle Continues, a nonprofit charity advocating for the health needs of veterans. He also gives lectures around the country to raise awareness about the challenges veterans face upon returning from war.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology and his MD from Northwestern, Dr. Bose completed his residency at Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, Texas, known as the busiest emergency department in the United States military. During this time, Dr. Bose achieved the nation’s top score on the American Board of Emergency Medicine In-training Examination, a test required of every medical resident in the United States.
